Facing the reality reflected in the mirror, I did my food shopping. Apples, a pineapple, some black grapes (yummy!), and a bunch of broccoli were some of my purchases.
I KNOW I need to get serious about cutting the sugar out of my diet again. It has slowly crept back in (yesterday in the form of a a small piece of homemade coconut cream pie). I also made an unwise choice or two in restaurants the past couple of week (onion rings & something else I've already forgotten).
I'm thankful for the healthy alternatives available in my grocery store.
I'm thankful for mirrors and cameras that confront me with my reality.
I'm thankful for an inward desire to change.
I'm thankful for Power to change.
Before October ends, I'm going to have ONE good day of healthy eating and 30 minutes of walking!
That would be TODAY!
Rebecca, I have had a fairly undisciplined week. Until then I've been doing muh better with self-control. I've been under some extra stress this past week (I'll email you when I get a chance, we could use some prayers over here) and I fell into old habits of using food for comfort. The good news is that I am happily remembering just one week ago when I was feeling good about how clothes were fitting, etc. So hopefully all is not lost. I need to take time this weekend to plan out menus for the week and shop too...it helps to have the right stuff in the house! FONDLY REMEMBERING LAST SATURDAY!!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for you sis, love you.
ReplyDeleteRemember a huge thing is always use a smaller plate to eat off of. Smaller bowls too. No snacking after dinner is also big. Keep walking, you'll be right where you want to be. take care, Gina
ReplyDeleteThank you for praying, Denise. My challenges seem small compared to yours. And I pray for you right NOW as I type these words...
ReplyDeleteJacquelyn, Per your facebook posting, I think you've had a very full week. I am PRAYING and as soon as you set up in Skype (it is NOT difficult) we shall chat THAT way!
ReplyDeleteHey Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteSilhouettes are DRAMATIC!
I will pray for you and covet your prayers for me. I so stirred off track after my surgery that I have gained half of my weight loss BACK!
UGH! May GOD help us both to be serious about self denial and self control!
Blessings ~
Gina - thanks for the reminder about small plates! Portion control is a HUGE "secret" for me. Your encouragement means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteJess, It's nice to have company in the "battle". Praying for you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will have a healthy wonderful day, ......:-) Hugs
