Does Cleaning House Count?

I'm not sure how much time I spent cleaning - vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom floor, sink, toilet and tub.  But it may be all the exercise I get today!  I calculated at this site, and came up with at least 188 calories. This is a great place to figure out how many calories you burn at various activities, by the way.

I'm getting ready for overnight guests, friends I've never met face-to-face--only corresponded with....It always makes me a little nervous.  House cleaning is not my favorite activity, but I must confess the upstairs looks VERY nice.

Now for making sure meal prep is complete before going to my No-Longer-Red-Hats luncheon at noon.  We've invited a few friends to the house this evening to meet our overnight guests.  I've made an extremely unhealthy (but delicious) dessert to serve (baked pretzel crust;  layer of cream cheese, sugar & whipped cream; top layer of strawberries in strawberry jello).

I'm thinking a day full of friends and fun will make up for the clouds and rain outside.

  1. Have FUN Rebecca. And you are so slender that you can eat your very yummy-sounding dessert and not worry about it too much. After all, you are not going to eat it every day, right? Sincerely, Susan

  6. House work is my main scource of exercise because my walking ability is poor. The key is just keep moving.

  7. I hope you had a lovely time with new friends and old!
What IS up with leaving the driveway and NOT remembering if we pressed the garage door remote? For me, I know that my mind is racing at least 2 miles ahead of my body, so I can't remember if I completed what was needed in the moment. UGH! "LORD, help me!"

  8. One day this week I babysat at my son & daughter-in-law's house instead of at mine...for a change of scenery. I spent several hours picking up and cleaning up over there (toys etc) and by the time I got home I could barely walk. I think it was all the bending...just ht me in different places. I've tried making that strawberry dessert and I flopped it. Good thing I guess because it is very addictive...so now I can only eat it when someone else brings it to an event! You sound just like me when getting ready for company but eventually we realize its about the people, not our house...but I'm the same way...
